By Dorothy Cook

This is the easiest part and anyone can do this. There is a process below and all you have to do is follow them. So you will not be electrocuted. It can be done in a few minutes. Just make sure that it fits perfectly and you will not do anything that will mess it up. Some people does like to replace them all the time.

A good quality of disk prevents you from changing them always. Replacement hard drive does not take time to do it. Especially if you have bought the one to replace them. Before you could do it, you should have to consider some things and follow the procedures given below. And make sure you replace the old one because it is not working anymore.

Here are the steps that you should apply. This is very easy and simplified so anyone will not have a hard time. Always choose something that will benefit you and could save time. When you buy for a new one, make sure that it should be of the same type and is compatible.

Start in backing up your files. You never know what could happen. This is for your own sake. Especially those files that are very important to you. There is a tendency that you could not recover them without moving and making a copy of them. You could transfer it to another hard drive. Like USB that can accommodates a lot of space.

After you do it, you can now shut down the PC. Do it before you would do anything else. Always practice safety procedures. And never risk your life because you only have the one. And please avoid problems if possible. This is your precautionary measure. And never touch the inner component if you have not turn off everything.

Open the case of the computer. Do not dismantle your monitor. You should focus on the central processing unit or CPU. And be ready with your screw drivers. You would be needing them. Because some of them uses screw that you need to unscrew. If there is a door, then remove it when you can.

After opening it, go to the location where the old one is located. Be extra careful in doing that. You might touch the other parts and would mess them up. You have to check if it is screwed inside. Otherwise you cannot remove them right away. Unscrew them and see to it that the other parts will not be damage. You will only remove something that needs to be replaced.

Take out all the screws that bind them to the PC. Just use your hand and make sure you will never touch any surface of it. Do not throw them away and hold them properly and put them on the side. Never drop it. If you see the jumpers found in the old one, take it so it will be used on the new one. And they should match together.

Place the new one and do procedures above. Check if you did not missed anything. Turn on the PC and see if how it works. And the software you have before is still there. If not, install them again.
